On the CNN Wire blog, one of the authors had the audacity to say that Obama was being centrist in his speech today:
the question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small, but whether it works – whether it helps families find jobs at a decent wage, care they can afford, a retirement that is dignified.
Pardon me?!?! It is not the government’s job to find anyone a job, help them pay for health care, or pay for their retirement! Just because he throws in the bit about government being too big or too small does not make him a centrist, nor his ideas. He still thinks that the government should be taking care of our every need, and that is certainly not centrist…
What you wrote and what he said are to different things.
You said “It is not the government’s job to find anyone a job”. Like you go to the “job line” and see what you get.
He said “helps families find jobs at a decent wage”. To me that means unemployment and minimum wage type programs that do the right things for people. They “help” you but they don’t find you a job.
