"We'll have lots more space...

...in the van than we did in the MDX"

Granted
1. There is no Yakama rack on the roof
2. We have two boxes of wood that would never have fit in the MDX
3. We packed EVERYTHING possible (2 coolers, boating box, screen canopy, scooters, etc)

At least we can still see the kids...

Peach pie!! My first attempt at a peach pie and if I do say so myself it is fabulous!

Thanks to Frog Hollow Farms CSA for getting me to find interesting things to do with my stone fruit!!

Not exaclty what they meant

While driving on I-5 I saw a large sign on a building that read "cat boarding". Now most people would think of a veterinarian who keeps (boards) animals. That isn't what first popped into my head...

"Cat boarding is that like water boarding only with different??"

Of course Scott wanted to know if cat boarding would be done With or To cats... Good question.

It has got to be genetic...

I have been noticing how different my two children are since Jessaleigh was born. Each time I it is amazing to me how they differ even when I try to treat them (for the most part) the same.

My most recent observation is that given a choice of toys:
Jessaleigh prefers people (i.e. Lego people, people figures from play sets, dolls, etc. - excluding stuffed animals occasionally, but that is a different topic entirely)

Chanler on the other hand will go for (and always has) the toy with wheels.

I guess deep down I am curious, are their preferences something I am doing/encouraging, is it gender related, or is it simply individual personality? The underlying question is why are they like this and is it nature or nurture... Very interesting to watch it played out in my living room everyday

ETA
I almost forgot two of Jessaleigh's other favourites - Fisher-Price people (old school ones are the best) and of course SHOES

Unbelievable

If only there were more shipping company options - I would boycott FedEx, but alas consumers have little choice in who ships to them.

Yesterday our package of re-printed Christmas card was not delivered because "customer was unavailable". When in reality I was in my driveway cleaning out my car from before the "delivery attempt" until half an hour after... So either someone at FedEx is lying or they now have invisible trucks!!

To add insult to injury, after speaking to the "customer service" call center for half an hour (funny they can't actually do anything to serve customers) we called back to place the package on hold at the shipping center. Again the on the phone with the call center we were told that the pick up location opened at 8:30am. Yet here I stand at 8:45am in front of the CLOSED FedEx office.

So for the record:
I still have no package
FedEx lied twice
And
My kid are freezing waiting for the office to open.

All in all a great start to the day/week
