Recently Jessaleigh has found her thumb and loves to suck on it. I am not quite sure how I feel about the prospect of thumb sucking, but am hopeful that it will not become a pattern for long. For now, tons of people have told me how cute it is that she is sucking her thumb???? I have no idea why it is cute?

Ainsley went through a thumb-sucking stage. We are seriously anti-pacifier, so I assumed it was only a matter of time before she would find something else to suck. It only lasted about 6 months. Maybe. She would suck to fall asleep at night. And then she just stopped. All on her own. Go figure.
“They” say that most kids develop some sort of self-calming habit. And 90% of the time, it stops by itself by the time they are 4 or so.
Ainsley is now a nail biter. Did you know nail biters are far more likely to have nail biting children? I haven’t bit my nails since junior high, and yet here she is – biting away. I think I’ll worry about it when its time for her to start school.
We are now HOPING Amelia finds her thumb – she is entirely too used to falling asleep with a boob in her mouth.
