Rolling

Jessaleigh rolled over tonight!!!!!!

I put her on the bed tummy down and she rolled herself over to her back. Now with Chanler we weren't particularly impressed with the direction of rolling (front to back as opposed to back to front) because he stared doing it at 3 weeks.

Chanler's Method of rolling front to back:
1) Push your head up as high as possible (the first step to all of Chanler's methods)
2) Wait until one of your arms gives out
3) When said arm gives out swiftly roll to that side and look amazed

Jessaleigh's Method:
1) Scooch forward while leaving your arm stationary. This will eventually get your arm under your body.
2) Continue scooching until you have your shoulder beginning to follow your pinned arm
3) This is where it gets tricky - keep scooching although you will loose traction on the leg opposite to the pinned arm.
4) Kick said leg into the air as high can
5) With the combination of scooching and kicking you will eventually roll over.

Our kids are amazingly different even at this age!

4 Months

4 Months

Well, our little girl is 4 months old today.

We have a Doctors appointment later this week so I will be able to update you all on her stats soon. Jessaleigh is still doing most all of the things she was doing at 3 months only with more voracity and intent.

Slipping

My ban on pink is slipping! It started with pink accents, pink flowers, pink here and there. We did have some pink that was given to us, but for the most part my iron hand has been keeping the pink to a minimum (mostly jammies).

But then today, I actually bought PINK onesies myself!!!! Granted you had to get the pink ones because they were in the set with the brown ones, but still. That and we already had all the purple sets in other sizes.

Where will this lead too I can only cringe!

4 Month Check Up

Jessaleigh at 4 months:
Weight: 14lbs 7oz (66th percentile)
Length: 24.75 In (68th percentile)
Head Circumference: 17 in (94th percentile)

Guess she is starting to take after daddy more !

Other than that the Dr's appointment was entirely forgettable. No questions from our side, no issues from the Dr. So we were pretty much in and out.

Thumb

Recently Jessaleigh has found her thumb and loves to suck on it. I am not quite sure how I feel about the prospect of thumb sucking, but am hopeful that it will not become a pattern for long. For now, tons of people have told me how cute it is that she is sucking her thumb???? I have no idea why it is cute?

Toes

Toes

And now Jessaleigh has found her toes. They are great fun to grab and hold.

Any day now

Jessaleigh will be on the move. Right now she can roll over both ways, but only on the bed (she gets better traction there then on the rug), and hold her belly off the floor on hands and knees or hands and feet only. She is very strong! Now if she could just figure out how to move forward instead of scooting backward all the time (dram traction again) she would be gone.

How long can we hold her off?

Jessaleigh is four and a half months old and desperately wants to figure out eating. I think right now she is mostly interested in cups (and by interested I mean any time a cup comes within a foot of her, she goes NUTS trying to get it) and things in my hands. She would probably have no idea what to do with it if we were to actually give her food, but she sure does a great impression of wanting what you've got.
